APEX WHOLEFOOD DISCUSSING WITH USDA ATO SHANGHAI ABOUT U.S.A PAVILION AT XIJIAO CENTER
Invested and co-managed by the Shanghai Municipal Agriculture Committee and a state owned company, Shanghai Xijiao International Agricultural Product Trade Center is the largest display and wholesale market in the country. With refrigerated and dry goods warehouses, the market includes products such as grains, vegetables, fruits, meat, aquatic products, condiments, processed foods, and dried products. Almost all China’s provinces and regions have set up provincial and regional pavilions in the market.

Currently, only ASEAN and some European countries have established pavilions representing groups of foreign participants in the market. China Quarantine and Inspection (CIQ) and customs agents have on-site offices for the inspection and clearance of imported products. APEX has expressed interest in building a U.S.A. Pavilion to introduce and facilitate trade for the American agricultural and food products in the market. ATO has already started to followup with APEX and will support their efforts in recruiting U.S. exporters and products for the pavilion.
Shanghai Agricultural Trade Office (ATO Shanghai), as the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) office in Shanghai, met with Apex Wholefood in Shanghai Xijiao International Agricultural Product Trading Center, dicussing about building the U.S.A pavillion.
